With Swiss flair Chesa has been for a bit more than two years now, but the restaurant, which features Swiss cuisine, hasn't changed that much. It's home-like, warm atmosphere created by tables placed close enough for greeting friends but tar enough for privacy. As chief and owner Thomas Nowak promised. The walls are still bereft of pretty Swiss landscapes, and none of the well-trained staff wear lederhosen. The only nod to Swiss tradition are paper mache heads of two moo-cows at the back. One slightly obvious change is a wooden screen between the bar and dining areas, for privacy.

good food and friendly staff. Would expect a little more quantity especially for the swiss fondue. Will go back.   (nafeipin - April, 2007)

"To try this unique cuisine at its finest, head for Chesa on Sukhumvit Soi 20, owner/chef Thomas Nowak will make you glad that you did."

IMAGE asia, Where to Eat in Bangkok - January 2007
"Chesa offers you food from all 4 regions of Switzerland. Raclette, Cheese & Beef Fondue is not missing either! There are also specials like Capuns “Swiss Dim Sum”, seasonal dishes like white asparagus, deer stew, venison or special imported lettuce and sausages from Switzerland to demonstrate that Swiss cuisine is not all heavy on the stomach."

N/A, eat2eat - January 2007
"A large Thai house is decorated in a simple Swiss style with a separate bar area... Food is hearty, full of flavour and very filling. Start with capuns, a traditional dumpling dish that is almost a meal in itself then follow with either cheese or beef fondue or raclette melted over eight choices of fresh vegetables and peppers..."

Naphalai Areesorn, Thailand Tatler - January 2007
"A business-like atmosphere with Venetian blinds, but soft lighting and a quiet mood allow some warmth and cosiness to create an almost romantic comfort amid the white walls and dark wood. Impeccable service by waitresses who are professionally trained to move meals along like clockwork."

Naphalai Areesorn, Thailand Tatler - January 2006
"This is a comfortable restaurant tucked away down a short alley. It is in a pleasant house with car parking around it. There is a good sized menu with a central European edge to it, as you would expect in a Swiss restaurant. A classic afternoon lunch in pleasant surroundings with great food and an interesting mine host!"

Sam Worthington, Sam Worthington A restaurant reviewer at large! - February 2005
"Modern take on a traditional Swiss restaurant-bar complete with a stammtisch."

Howard Richardson, Insight City Guide ---- Bangkok - January 2005
"According to Chesa chef-owner Thomas Nowak, Chesa's cuisine features not only the heavier Swiss-style of cooking epitomized by fondues but also a lighter-style of Swiss cuisine making use of local ingredients such as trout from the Royal Project, perch and locally-produced sausage and pasta."

Ken Barrett, Bangkok Post - January 2003
"It's home-like, with a warm atmosphere created by tables placed close enough for greeting friends but tar enough for privacy. As chef and owner Thomas Nowak promised. The walls are still bereft of pretty Swiss landscapes, and none of the well-trained staff wear lederhosen. The only nod to Swiss tradition is paper mache heads of two moo-cows at the back. One slightly obvious change is a wooden screen between the bar and dining areas, for privacy."

N/A, The Nation 2002 - January 2002
"The food at this pleasant, friendly restaurant is certainly good. Add a capacious car- park, unobtrusive and flexible staff and the best- stocked toilets we've seen in Bangkok, and Chesa deserves to flourish."

N/A, SAWADEE 2002 - January 2002
