limited choice of food in the buffet especially the pasta and pizza bar but foods are tasty and the price is relatively cheap.   (See my reviews (3) - March, 2008)

"La Gritta, operated by the Amari Hotel chain, this restaurant is open from breakfast till late. There's always a young Italian stallion in charge of kitchen, eager to make a name for himself. The menu covers the breadth of Italy and loads of seasonal dishes and promotions are offered. Although mildly upmarket and the menu extensive, this is a great place for pizza and pasta. Conveniently located to the action on Sukhumvit Road ; it fills with shoppers at lunch and revellers in the evening."

N/A, The Big Chilli Magazine - February 2007
"There is no need to introduce La Gritta to knowledgeable Italian food lovers. Over the years this restaurant has featured excellent Italian chefs and quality Italian eats. Executive Chef is no exception and he has created a lunch promotion that has tongues wagging. There is a buffet with antipasti, salad bar, soup of the day, juice of the day, freshly baked bread, fresh fruit, tempting desserts and a live pizza and pasta station. After visiting the buffet, you can enjoy a main course from a menu that changes each day. On the day we visited there was a choice of pork knuckles with rosemary and mashed potatoes, sole filet with lemon butter or ricotta and spinach cannelloni. You can finish things off with complimentary coffee or tea."

N/A, Where to eat in Bangkok - February 2007
"Simply Italian... La Gritta manages to strike a perfect balance between authenticity, sophistication and simplicity in both its menu and decor. La Gritta, one of Bangkok 's first and finest Italian restaurants, is bright and cheerful in the day, and warm and welcoming at night. Perfect for extended lunches (in fact, all lunches at La Gritta seem to extend pleasantly), as well as evening social gatherings and romantic trysts, it offers original and inspires interpretations of authentic Italian cuisine. If you leave La Gritta with a heavy stomach the chances are you'll be leaving a little lighter of pocket than you would after eating at a regular pizza and pasta joint. This little slice of Italy right in the hearth of Sukhumvit is an absolute must-visit, and once tried is unlikely to be forgotten."

Matt Leppard, Elite Magazine - October 2006
"Italian Do It Better...Monk fish from Australia, Parma Ham from Italy and Rocket Salad from Thailand - La Gritta knows how to mix and match. La Gritta greets you just as soon as you turn into Soi 19 of Sukhumvit road. The Italian restaurant is reminiscent of New York in the sense that its glass windows overlook an urban landscape. Pedestrians, cabs and commuters pass you by - as you seat yourself in the reasonably comfortable ambience of what promises to be a good meal."

Supachat Vetchamaleenont, Living in Thailand - September 2006
"In existence for approximately nine years, La Gritta has recently undergone renovation and installed a new chef, Marco Maggio. The restaurant has not raised its prices, however, and remains a favourite because of that and its Italian cuisine. La Gritta offers a core menu supplemented by another one which changes weekly. They also offer market specials."
